letter from the Wares

Emily “Peacock” Ware Dear Friends,

Our beloved daughter, Emily Sandra Ware, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2009 at five months old. Her cause of death was determined as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). She was a healthy, vibrant, happy baby and we miss her greatly. Her red hair was always waving in the wind, earning her the nickname "Emily Peacock".

On March 13, 2010, we will hold the 1st annual Peacock Strides for Babies, in memory of Emily, to benefit the CJ Foundation for SIDS. Funds raised will support SIDS research in the hope that the cause of SIDS deaths can be identified and prevented. Our goal is that this terrible tragedy never happens to another family. The Peacock Strides for Babies will be a 5K Walk/Run and a 1-mile Family Fun Run held in Mauldin, SC.

We want to thank you all in advance for your support and generosity towards this extremely important cause. We look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,
Matt and Jodi Ware

about the event

About The Event

Balloon JewelryThe Peacock Strides for Babies walk/run event is sure to be one you'll enjoy! Featuring both a timed 5k and a 1 mile Family Fun-Run, walkers and runners of all experience levels are invited to come out and show their support. There will be plenty of food for everyone involved and the kids will have a blast with the endless list of activities going on throughout the day!

Balloon JewelryAll proceeds from the event will benefit the CJ Foundation for SIDS -- the nation's leading non-governmental SIDS funding agency. The goal of the event is to raise money in hopes of reducing the risk of future infant deaths, supporting families who have suffered a loss, and funding medical research so that no new families have to endure the pain of losing their infant. With enough enthusiasm, all of those things can be accomplished!
