Project: Genetic Risk Factors and SIDS

Description: This project uses microarray technology to look for very subtle genetic variations that could be linked to SIDS. This project recognizes that there are many factors involved in the occurrence of SIDS. In some families there may be a genetic predisposition such that an environmental stressor has a catastrophic outcome that might not affect another infant. The project hopes to identify these factors and spur further research into these genetic factors.
